About Me — by Kiah

Hi, I’m Kiah — a Freo girl with a dash of French flair and a soft European lilt, thanks to my Czech husband. I’ve travelled all around the world, yet somehow life has a beautiful way of bringing us back to where it all began.

From as far back as I can remember, I knew I wanted to work with homes. As a little girl, I’d rearrange my bedroom just for fun, instinctively chasing the feeling a space could create. Even then, I understood something important: our environments shape how we feel.

As I grew older, my curiosity deepened. Interior decoration alone no longer felt like enough — I wanted spaces to do more than look beautiful. I wanted them to nourish the soul.

So I followed that calling far beyond home, travelling to my father’s homeland and immersing myself in meditation and Buddhist philosophy. For many years, I lived as a traveller, never staying in one place for more than nine months at a time. I worked, saved, meditated, and moved from retreat to retreat, gathering wisdom, shedding layers, and quietly dreaming of one day creating a retreat space of my own.

Eventually, another rhythm began to rise — a gentle but steady pull toward home, family, and grounding. My partner at the time couldn’t walk that path with me, so with kindness and courage, we parted ways.

Not long after returning to my mother’s land, love found me — unexpectedly and wholeheartedly. Almost before I could catch my breath, I became a wife, a mother, and a stepmother. We didn’t have much in those early days, but we had each other, shared values, and a vision for the life we wanted to build.

Then, in a moment that still feels written in the stars, an opportunity appeared: a land-and-home package on the very grounds of my old high school. Life had come full circle.

Today, we live in what I lovingly call our modern-day cave. A light-filled home overlooking the ocean, surrounded by native gardens designed by the incredible Josh Byrne, a true champion of sustainable living and Australian flora. Our home is a living, breathing ecosystem, a secret garden that continues to evolve and deepen our connection to the land.

Along the way, I formally trained and became an accredited Feng Shui consultant, weaving ancient wisdom into both our home and my work.

For the past six years, I’ve run Declutter with Kiah. Supporting people to clear physical and energetic clutter so their homes can truly support the lives they want to live.

My husband is now the CTO of a software company. He quite literally makes big problems small.  Together we’ve built a life from the ground up. We purchased our home for under $600,000, and in just three and a half years, its value has grown by $300,000.

Whether that’s timing, intention, good karma, or simply living in alignment, I’ll let you decide. What I do know is this: when your space supports you, everything else begins to flow.
